About the Founders… Steve & Detty Laidlow
Touching Lives. Changing Nations
Since
1998, Steve and Detty have been involved in reaching unreached people
groups in remote villages and holding evangelistic open air meeting and
panting churches and bible schools also, Acorn has been actively
involved in supporting underprivileged children’s orphanages in India,
Romania, Thailand and now in Indonesia.
They
have a burning passion for reaching the lost and under – privilege and
their prayer is that the never lose the vision of what it means for a
soul to be lost.
Steve & Detty Laidlow
are the founders and directors of Acorn International Ministries, Acorn
Indonesia and Acorn Philippines, registered and non profit organisation.
Since 1995, they have been actively involved in evangelism and their
first mission trip took them to China, Romania and Africa. Those early
mission experiences helped them to catch and expand their world vision.
Later mission trips took them to Asia, working with the Pastors churches
in Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Pakistan and Philippines.
Trained So That To The World They Will Go
In
2001, in obedience to God’s call on their lives, they resigned from
their fulltime jobs, left England and attended Bible school for two
years of ministerial training. They graduated from the Pastors group in
May 2003 as ordained and licensed ministers.
Since
2003, Steve & Detty have been living and ministering in Indonesia
as full time missionaries, helping to teach, train, and equip Pastors
and Leaders to impact Indonesia with the Gospel. In addition, Acorn
Indonesia has an international Church & Bible school, medical clinic
and mother & child home in west Jakarta, Indonesia.
